A new security system looks out onto the grounds and street beyond. No cameras see the house or lanai.
The house has an unusual configuration. The back two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and A/C, are accessed from the covered lanai, and therefore have their own entrances. Tweens and teenagers love it, but it might be inappropriate for small children. We have an unfenced pond so you have to keep an eye on them. Nevertheless we have hosted many.

Peace and tranquility in the mornings. Cool, crisp water to refresh the soul. We try to come every year. We grew up a few houses down the road in Keaukaha. The only thing is the red ants…

Wonderful property - very conveniently located, beautiful scenery, kind and helpful host! I would love to stay here again! If you find yourself in Hilo and need 3 bedrooms, this is a great stay and is a wonderful opportunity to see more of the island living you won't see in the cities. Pepe was a very accommodating and kind host!

Spot check cleaning on window sill (insect carcasses) and dusty bedside lampshades. One of our friends was badly bitte on the main sofa while watching tv. Laundry machine dials need good a wipedown. Would have liked more coffee on hand, but we bought Kcups at the store. Otherwise, great rooms and decor! Mahalo for your convenient property to enjoy Merrie Monarch :)

This property is fantastic. The setting is incomparable, on lagoons and surrounded by dense rainforest.Pepe was extremely responsive to any issues. The house is better appointed than any other rental property I’ve ever stayed in.
