Of the many places I have stayed through VRBO and Air B&B, this was the most beautiful. Unfortunately, of the places I've stayed, this kitchen was the worst. You will have a stunning view of the rolling Appalachian hills and a lake. But you won't be able to cook a meal for your gathering (and we had gathered to celebrate the life of a loved one who had died). With the price tag, you'd expect to be able to use an oven. Forget it. Whoever used it last left it reeking as if they'd slaughtered and cooked an animal in it. Silverware is thrown into a drawer. No chef's knife and a haphazard cabinet below the counter where very old and fraying pans were piled. The house itself and its view is spectacular. But whoever manages this place needs to find a cleaning service and replace: the oven, all the pots and pans, knives & silverware, the washer and dryer (also pretty disgusting)--for the price you pay and that hefty security deposit, the last thing you would think upon entering this home is that it would be so filthy. Finally, communciation via the VRBO app was a joke and the responsiveness of the so-called host was intermittent and unhelpful.
