This was an A experience. The house felt homey the moment we walked in. It’s a true island house, very private and comfortable. The covered, large side porch is where we spent much of our time, surrounded by green, enjoying the breezes, The house is unusually well stocked—most of the houses we’ve stayed in give you some iodized salt and ground pepper and a single roll of t.p. We cook, so the good salt and pepper and vinegars were very welcome. The coffee maker is a little tricky, but directions are supplied and once you know what you’re doing, it works well.Michelle, the manager, is wonderful—friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. She strikes the perfect balance. When she heard the grill wasn’t working, her partner repaired it, constructing the parts that weren’t available.The house is easy walking distance to the shops in Hawi Town. We were able to get most of what we wanted in one or another of them, or we drove to a larger market, Takata’s, a few minutes down the road. Hawi is a town that people like to visit, but it’s not a tourist destination. Most of the people we saw and encountered were residents. When you stay in this house for a couple of weeks, you feel like you’re living in old Hawaii, and you don’t want to leave.

Good location in Hawi near Kohala Main Street. Very comfortable home with great amenities. Easy communication with host.

Very clean and tidy well sheltered from winds and rain home. Roosters and dogs are plentiful in Hawi and early risers :-)

A great place to unwind and relax after a day of activities. Clean, and perfect size for our family.
