About this house rental
Wake up to sweeping mountain and valley views at this private, gated villa in Residencial Vista Atenas, Atenas, Costa Rica. The community is a short drive from central Atenas, restaurants, supermarkets and daily services, and the approach is suitable for a standard car. Designed for families, friends and longer stays, the villa accommodates up to eight registered guests and offers comfortable bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, a dedicated workspace and free parking for up to three vehicles.
Enjoy a private solar-heated infinity pool, tropical gardens, spacious patio, barbecue area and the peaceful Central Valley climate. Inside: fast Wi-Fi, several TVs, ceiling fans, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, laundry room, printer and scanner.
The main entrance has step-free access. Guests who use mobility aids are welcome to message us before booking so we can confirm that the layout meets their needs.
Our experienced hosting team has welcomed guests for nine years. The owners live next door and are available when needed while respecting your privacy. Exterior security cameras protect the grounds. We are happy to help arrange optional services in advance, including in-home massage, a private chef, housekeeping and local recommendations. These services carry an additional charge and are subject to provider availability.
Check-in is from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. On arrival, contact the host and wait for authorization before the gate is opened. Reservation and payment communication remains in Vrbo.

We spent 4 wonderful days in a stunning property situated on a hill with a panoramic view of San Jose. The house was extremely beautiful and well-maintained, with cleanliness evident from the moment we arrived. It was fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.One of the most delightful experiences was the pool, which was always clean and maintained at the perfect temperature. Nothing compares to the moments spent in the water, admiring the volcanoes in the distance – a truly spectacular sight!The garden was a real paradise, filled with tropical plants that added an exotic touch to the place. Our host, a super host, was incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our stay.This place was truly extraordinary, picturesque, and a perfect reflection of the "Pura Vida" philosophy. I warmly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in the heart of Costa Rica. We felt at home and can't wait to return!

My daughter and I flew to Costa Rica for a long weekend to visit my son who is in college in San Jose for the semester. This property was perfect for our little reunion. Plenty of space, beautiful views way up in the hills, and a pool. The owners were very helpful and charming. Liked that the house had a local flavor and not generic like most hotels and many other rentals were. Nice restaurants in town. Was central to our day trips.

What I loved about this property was the incredible view, the friendliness and how welcoming the hosts were, we were very appreciative of the basket of fruit and goodies as well as all of the information on the local restaurants, attractions and what to expect in the area in general.
What I disliked about this property was I do not feel it should be advertised as privately as it is since the host does live just right next to where you stay, there was quite a bit of noise just from their comings and goings as well as the noise of the maintenance personel. The host also has a very friendly dog who barked quite often during our stay. The pool was unfortunately a little too chilly to be enjoyed however it did rain quite a bit which I'm sure did not help to maintain a comfortable temperature.
The house itself was not the cleanest, all the chairs had a lot of crumbs in them and the placemats and counters were a bit dirty as well. The beds are very firm and not too comfortable and there is no AC in the rooms.
Overall the hosts friendliness and the view were 5 star, but the house itself I would rate maybe a 2 or 3 star. We enjoyed our stay but will be seeking different accommodations next time we visit.
