About this house rental
Newly renovated , this two-story , cozy 1900’s farmhouse has a view of the neighboring farm. Just a short drive to Lake Wallenpaupack and Promised Land State Park. This property is Not in The Hideout. There is No access to The Hideout amenities.
One full bathroom located on the first floor only. All bedrooms are located on second floor. The home features an original staircase typical of older construction, with a fairly steep pitch due to its compact design. A handrail is present . The stairwell may have limited headroom at the bottom landing, reflecting the architectural norms of its era.
The master bedroom has a queen bed with an Adjoining small bedroom with a twin bed, Perfect for families with small children. Third bedroom has a full bed. Sleeps 5 people comfortably. Extra bed linens provided.
Fully equipped kitchen with electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, keurig coffee maker, electric griddle and a waffle iron.
Dining room table has seating for six, with island space for two additional seating.
Full bathroom with bathtub/shower-towels provided on the first floor.
Spacious living room with a Roku smart tv and a sitting room with view of the farm and livestock. Two enclosed porches with plenty of space to sit and enjoy.
Outdoor area with gas grill and a propane fire pit to roast marshmallows with the family.

This was our first stay in a VRBO property, and it has set the bar pretty high! A nice size house with a spacious dining area, two sitting rooms, and a good size bathroom. There's a little bit of anything you could need: books, games, kitchen items, bathroom essentials. Lisa had the house stocked with plenty of towels, blankets and pillows, which I always think is the sign of a considerate host. And she had cranked the AC up before we arrived, so the house was cool--the sign of an EXTRA considerate host! I used VRBO Messaging to communicate with Lisa before and during our stay, and she always replied promptly. Check-out instructions were straightforward and entirely reasonable. Thank you, Lisa, for a lovely stay in Mellow Yellow!

This place was great, perfect spot for a great weekend up at the lakes. The guys all loved then property and had a great time! From hanging around at the fire and using the grill for a bbq, to being only a 15 min drive to the lake to launch the boat! We loved it, I will definitely be back with the wife and family!

This property was very charming. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We checked in late at night after a long flight and it was easy to find with the patio twinkle lights and porch light on to greet us. Loved waking up to seeing cows on the pasture with a cup of coffee in hand from the thoughtfully put together coffee/tea station. Perfect quiet and peaceful escape from the busy city life. Appreciated the extra towels and kitchen essentials. Liked the antique furniture sprinkled throughout and that the home felt light and airy while staying true to its character.

We arrived very late but Lisa was excellent at communicating with us on how to check in, etc., so no issue. I had several questions and Lisa was very patient answering those – thank you, Lisa! She had lots of goodies for us - local cider, delicious tomatoes from her greenhouse in the back, etc. There’s a nice covered front porch (we didn’t use it) and a covered back/side porch (we used it for having bf). There was a gas fireplace which we used (there's a gas grill too but we didn't use it). The house must've gone through lots of renovations while keeping the farmhouse characteristics intact. For example, the floors downstairs were very nice. All decorations are wonderfully fitting to the house. There are outdoor activities, such as hiking (e.g., Top of the World) and horseback riding nearby (Lisa told us about these). Nice restaurants too and not too far away (we tried German and it was excellent). Overall, my wife and I had a great time there. We wanted a secluded area and this was very fitting.
