Escape to Lake Atitlán at Carina, our largest residence at Casa Verapaz. With soaring ceilings, a private balcony and expansive lake and volcano views, Carina is ideal for families and groups of friends looking for a spacious and peaceful stay.

The space
Carina accommodates up to 8 guests with a private main bedroom, spacious open loft and 2.5 bathrooms.

The main bedroom has a king bed, while the loft has two king beds. A sofa bed in the living room provides additional sleeping space.

The residence features a freestanding bathtub overlooking the lake and volcanoes, a full kitchen with refrigerator and freezer, spacious living and dining areas, a dedicated workspace, Wi-Fi, cable TV and a private gas BBQ.

Carina also has a private balcony with outdoor furniture and approximately 5-meter ceilings in the main bedroom and living/dining areas.

About Casa Verapaz
Casa Verapaz is a peaceful lakeside property set across nearly 5,000 m² of gardens in Santa Catarina Palopó. Carina is completely private to your reservation, while the swimming pool, jacuzzi, larger gardens and natural lake access are shared with registered guests staying in our other residences, Vela and Pablo.

The pool is unheated. The jacuzzi is heated on request. Our lake access is natural lakeshore access, not a beach-style swimming area.

Location
Casa Verapaz has both road and lakeside access. We are a short walk from the center of Santa Catarina Palopó and about 10–15 minutes by road from Panajachel.

Santa Catarina Palopó is a relaxed Kaqchikel Maya community on Lake Atitlán, offering a quieter setting while remaining close to Panajachel and other destinations around the lake.

Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire Carina residence and its balcony.

You will also have access to the shared pool, jacuzzi, larger gardens and natural lake access.

Carina includes one assigned parking space. On-site parking is best suited for smaller vehicles; larger or additional vehicles may require nearby parking.

Some gated areas of the property, including the main house and service areas, are reserved for owners and staff.

Check-in instructions are sent 24 hours before arrival.

Dogs are welcome for an additional fee of $50 USD / Q385 per pet, per stay. Please add your pet to the reservation.

Paid laundry service is available for Q60 per load. There is no washer or dryer inside Carina.

Casa Verapaz is built into the hillside, so some shared areas are reached by outdoor paths and stairs.

Exterior security cameras monitor designated entrances and common access areas. They record video only, not audio. There are no cameras inside private guest spaces.

Only registered overnight guests may enter or use the pool, jacuzzi, gardens and lake access. Outside visitors are not permitted under a normal accommodation reservation.

Santa Catarina Palopó is part of a living community. Guests may occasionally hear church bells, religious services and music, dogs, boats, fireworks or local celebrations. Fireworks can sometimes occur early in the morning.
