Experience luxury accommodations on a restored 1950’s railcar at the living history Galveston Railroad Museum. This elegantly appointed Silver Foot rail car features California Redwood paneling, well- appointed kitchen, complete with dishwasher, premium bed linens, and is uniquely located on a 5 acre railyard adjacent to the 1936 Train Depot. Guests enjoy visiting museum exhibits, touring railcars during museum hours, or the ambience of a moonlit stroll. Exhibits include art, model trains, memorabilia, train simulator, and the Ghosts of Travelers Past sculptures.
Current exhibits include Dining in Style, 20th Century Railroad Porcelain China and Silver, and Traveling on a City at Sea: The Story of the Battleship Texas.
Amenities include air conditioning, coffee/tea makers, iron and ironing board, refrigerator, microwave, cookware, dining place settings, Smart TV, complimentary parking, 24 hour Porter service.

A very unique experience that our family enjoyed. The Silverfoot is quite big. We had plenty of room for two adults and 4 kids. Wandering around the rail yard after hours is really fun. Location is very good. Easy to walk to the Strand and the sea wall. Getting in and out of the property can be a bit tedious as you have to call the caretaker to unlock the gates but he’s very responsive. The guest fees go to help support the rail museum which we liked. Overall we would recommend and would stay again.

Awesome!! David, Chris, and Nick were always attentive to our needs. David was prompt in answering any online questions and met us at the rail car to show us the ropes.The Railroad Museum hotel was the perfect starting point for our family cruise. We will definitely do this again! The Grandkids had a great time. Thanks!!

Highly recommend this very cool option when staying in Galveston. Unlike anything else, it's an exciting change of pace to for an overnight stay. The railcar is super clean and looks recently refurbished. The staff was over-the-top in efforts to assure we had everything we needed. We stayed during Railfest but any time is a good time for this property. We will definitely be back.
