This beautiful vacation home located in the private gated community of River Oak is 90 minutes from Washington DC, nestled between the George Washington National Forest and Shenandoah National Park just above the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. This newly constructed home with private 3.5 acre lot was completed in November 2017. It features 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, and Great Room all offering amazing views of the Shenandoah Valley. This home can accommodate from 1 to 6 people. Two master suites located on the main level feature one king bed, and one queen beds and private master baths with showers. An over-sized soaking tub, located in one master suite is a welcome refuge after a long day of hiking. The third bedroom located on the lower level, features Queen bed and a private full bath. Internet access for remote work on property. There is also a finished Rec-room on the lower level. An outdoor patio and dining area. Decks with grill, dining set, chairs all overlooking amazing views. All living areas and bedrooms have spectacular 180 degree mountain views. Loved the view and proximity to the outdoors (we did Luray caverns, some hiking, and kayaking down the river), amenities (tons of kitchen supplies for cooking meals, bathrooms are nice, lots of games and DVD's, nice TV's, nice deck and grill). The hosts are very responsive to questions and problems. Overall we had a great stay but there was one major issue with the property: mice in the basement. It's so weird no one mentioned any mice problems in recent reviews, I guess we were really unlucky. The first evening we noticed a few droppings in the basement, around the floors and also in the bottom of the game basket. We immediately evacuated the basement and had the kids sleep upstairs, we didn't have any problems upstairs. The hosts responded really quickly and stopped by the next day to set traps. Totally avoided the basement for the remainder of the trip, no issues upstairs. The morning of check out, we went to throw out trash in the basement and noticed in the tiny closet set up as a Harry Potter closet there were tons of mice droppings and the pillows got chewed through with the fluff strewn out all over. So glad no one slept in the basement. Hosts were responsive and apologetic and they promised to make sure this is cleaned up and never happens again. Small suggestions: blackout curtains in bedrooms, some stainless steel pots and pans (lots of non stick but all are pretty scratched up), more kitchen towels. Thanks, have a nice stay.

In nearly 20 years of renting VRBOs and vacation homes through realtors, nothing compares to the experience of this incredible home. First of all, the photos don't even do the place justice. The views from every window are astonishing, there are not one, not two, but three outdoor spaces from which you can enjoy them, and everything in the home is thoughtful and functional. Need to charge your phone? There's a surge protector next to the bed. Want to play a game or do a puzzle? Lots of fun board games and puzzles are provided in the family room, along with DVDs (and you can also sign into your streaming accounts) Want to cook? There's a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove. We had an incredible time and that's due to the beauty of the home and the amazing hosts who built it. Bill and Stephanie were responsive, helpful, and welcoming. We felt like honored guests and we enjoyed every minute of it.

The house was perfect for us. It is very comfortable and was immaculately clean. The location is great, convenient to both Front Royal and Strasburg.

Cute place, clean, well stocked with the basics. Beds are very comfortable. The view is fantastic. Its quiet, secluded, and peaceful. I loved the kitchen. I found myself wishing some of the windows had curtains or drapes. The furniture was a bit dated, i was wanting a more substantial couch. Overall 9/10
