About this cabin rental
Katie’s Lake Road Cabin B is a rustic beauty! This cabin is one of three cabins on the property. This heated and air conditioned cabin is packed full of charm. The cabin has a lodge theme through-out the inside. Wake up in the morning with a cup of coffee and step outside to listen to the sounds of nature all around you. At the end of the day, savor the sunset. It would be perfect for a couple's getaway or a great place to bring the family. The cabin is so centrally located that you could spend five days here and not be able to do everything there is to do within a twenty mile radius. This property also has a beautiful location. It is close to town yet very private. The view from the front porch is breathtaking. Nothing beats the quiet of the country and the sounds of nature.
This spacious cabin has a open layout for the kitchen, dining room and living room. The roomy, bedroom loft is located upstairs and has two comfortable, queen sized beds. The cabin also has a couch and a set of twin bunk beds that help it sleep seven comfortably. Refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker and blender are just a few of the amenities included in the kitchen. The dining area includes a small bar and a dining table. There is a washer and dryer in the laundry area.
The cabin is completely stocked with bedding and towels. The property has a charcoal grill and a fire-pit. All you would need to bring is your food and clothes to feel right at home!

Our stay in cabin B was wonderful! It was like home away from home. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a long weekend away. Checking in and out was a breeze. The hostess is very sweet. If you like to grill, pack some charcoal. Having the grill and fire pit on site was wonderful. We really enjoyed grilling dinner and sitting by the fire at night. The hostess was so kind to provide wood for the fire pit! We also appreciated having a washer and dryer with plenty of soap provided. The hostess even had a little first aid kit available for minor needs. Some people may need to bring extra paper products, including paper plates if you don't want to wash dishes. Overall, the cabin was very well stocked and thoughtfully set up for ease and comfort. The view out over the field is beautiful. At Cabin B you have to walk up/down a slight hill to get to your car or the fire pit. The lake is just a couple minutes drive down the road. It's very pretty and easy to fish for kids. There's no swimming or boating there. For swimming, we definitely recommend Johnson shut-ins! For geological amazement, check out Elephant Rocks. For a good workout, do the rugged 3 mile hike to Mina Sauk Falls on Taum Sauk Mountain. For good food and interesting history, definitely go to Thee Abbey and definitely get a cinnamon roll!

Cute 2 bedroom 1 bath cabin. I wouldn't say it has a million dollar view (you have to walk to the road to see the million dollar view that is across the road). The only other issues were the bathtub drain - which drained VERY slowly; and two of the burners on the stovetop do not work. For the nightly rate, everything should be in tiptop shape.
The upstairs beds were fairly comfortable and the mini splits did a great job of keeping the cabin cool.

It was a perfect spot to start the day of hiking the shut ins or climbing Elephant Rocks. And a wonderful place to wash away the day and relax. Close to great food options and groceries or necessaries.Clean and comfy. Beautifully decorated!We will be back!
