Discover the family-island of Eleuthera in this beautiful, stone house - Hibiscus House of Wykee Estates. The house provides a perfect combination of classic Bahamian charm, and modern amenities. With less than a minute walk to the beach, and a pool shared by the few houses in the community, the Hibiscus House is your ideal getaway. The island, as well as the property, is very quiet. The house comes fully equipped with DirecTV, Wi-Fi, indoor/outdoor stereo system, washer & dryer, dishwasher, central air conditioning, etc.

The estate was built by Sir Roland Symonette, the first prime minister of the Bahamas, in the 1930s. The resort hideaway includes the Manor House and six stone cottages tucked in 80 acres of lush tropical gardens joined with a secluded pink sand beach. While keeping its lovely French doors and windows, the old stone cottage has been recently redecorated. It has a fantastic wrap-around screened porch furnished in redone vintage rattan for dining, relaxing or just enjoying the great view. The floors are now beautiful, cool, glazed tiles. The furniture is updated with fabrics in bright, Caribbean colors. The master bedroom with a new queen-size bed opens to the airy porch and a view of the ocean. The second bedroom with two new twin beds is decorated in yellows and blues. There are two renovated bathrooms. The house includes a great living room with ten+ foot ceilings and a fireplace. There is also a fully equipped updated kitchen with refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, small appliances, dishes, utensils, and a washing machine. There is a large separate dining room. The house has ceiling fans in every room. Unlike most Bahamian homes, the house has central air conditioning.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hibiscus. The screened in porch was our favorite place to gather. House is very well equipped and great overall location for all things Eleuthera. Will definitely be back!

Lovely home in a beautiful setting. Very central location. Water views and only a 2 minute walk to an amazing pool, and arguably, one of the best beaches in Eleuthera. House had lots of supplies, ranging from beach towels to paper towels, and Alexandra, the Host, was super responsive. When the washer broke down, we had a new one within a day. I highly recommend Hibiscus House!

We love Hibiscus House. Wykee is private but also close to Governors Harbor should you need anything. Relaxed, comfortable, clean, well appointed. For us , a 10 out of 10!
