About this apartment rental

Aloha Molokai!
It will be Humpback Whale season in the Kaholi channel of Molokai, Hawaii, December - April, an epic event to watch these giants with their babies so close up.
If you are looking for the true ALOHA spirit, this charming condo offers you just that for your total enjoyment. NEW: A/C has been installed very recently. Entire condo has been completely renovated with porcelain tiles, new paint throughout and new drapes. It is equipped with all kitchen amenities and offers you the splendor of paradise. Start your morning by zipping your cup of coffee or favored beverage on the lanai, be aware of the stillness surrounding you, watch tiny little fish jumping out of the ocean for joy, where birds leave their footprints in the sand in front of you, where the island of Lanai calls you across the channel, and where the fishpond so close begs you to visit. A new day with exciting activities has just begun for you......

The island of Molokai, also called “The Friendly Isle” is the most Hawaiian island and it is what Kauai used to be many years ago: tranquil and undisturbed in its natural beauty; My condo is about 1.5+ mile drive from Kaunakakai, the nearest and only town on the East Side for your shopping. There are two highways: one from north east to south east; another one from east to west. There is only ONE rental Car Company at the airport, but some others are near Kaunakakai. It's recommended to make your rental car reservation as soon as possible to avoid being stranded without a car. Should that happen give me a call as I may be able to find you one.
Molokai Shores is a spectacular beach resort in Molokai, Hawaii blending in perfectly with nature around it. My ocean front condo is located at the 2nd floor with a fully equipped kitchen, amenities and day sofa bed in living room, 1 queen bed in bedroom, 1 bath combing shower and bathtub, living room and lanai that lets you take in the vast velvet of the ocean and the fabulous exquisite sunsets during the Fall months. It was fully remodeled the 2nd time. Molokai Shores Resort offers a gated community pool right near the ocean, impeccable grounds with BBQ, picnic tables, tennis and kayaking . You have marvelous views to the island of Lanai which lies across the channel. Toward the left you’ll see the island of Maui. The resort offers you housekeeping services, laundry facility and hair dresser;
There are a few eateries in the town of Kaunakakai, a hotel, two grocery stores, one gas station on the east and one at the west side, a local museum, a farmers market, fishponds and a paradise for the outdoors, pristine rainforests with waterfalls, finest sand beaches, hiking, no traffic lights (!!!). Eat at Kualapuu Cookhouse where baby back ribs with homemade guava-barbecue sauce are just a mere hint of the offerings, come for the Luau at the Molokai Hotel while watching the sunset.
How to explore Molokai’s rich history and secrets, the very first Hula school; fishponds where fish were raised only for the Royalty- the Ali'i, unspoiled rainforests with some 900 m high seasonal water falls; Kalaupapa, the historical park and home of the few remaining former leper residents ; local tours for snorkeling, adventure, sightseeing, and where to indulge in the most gorgeous sunsets ... right from your condo. Once you book my condo most of these places are detailed in my Travel Guide Books which are mentioned in my WELCOME letter.
If this is the first time you come to Molokai or even if you have visited before, below are some interesting places which you don’t want to miss::
Kaunakakai, Wedding and Honey moons, Royal Coconut Grove and Park, Historical Museum and Sugar mill, coffee plantation and Macadamia Nut Farm, Fishponds, Kalaupapa Natl Museum (former Leper colony), Father Damien's life, Maunaloa and the 'Big Wind Lite Factory on the west side, Halawa Valley on the south east coast, Hikes and water falls with "Kalani", visit his gorgeous flower and fruit farm in Halawa Valley….
Visit Molokai's finest beaches -- Papohaku, Kepuhi and Kawakiu, which are some of the very best sand beaches of Hawaii. Visit the Leper colony in Kalaupapa either on mule or by helicopter, absorb the view of the majestic Na Pali, stop at the chapel dedicated to Father Damien, or take short flights to the other islands, sign up to organized trips for fishing and snorkeling, bicycling all over the island, explore the old fishponds where fish were raised only for the high Ali'i. And watch the most exquisite, breathtaking sunsets from the lanai during the fall months, observe wales as they migrate from Alaska from December to April. Don’t forget to stop by the Coffee Plantation and the Macadamia Nut Farm , indulge in chocolate shave ice – the best I like is from the gas station in Kaunakakai.

The Whale Watching Season is here right now! These graceful Humpback whale giants start migrating from Alaska from December to April to give birth to their babies. A phantastic fascinating event to experience these friendly marine giants in the waters off of Molokai's south coast (between Molokai, Lanai, & Maui) where an estimated 75% (10,000 - 12,000) of those whales can be found! You may watch them right from your lanai as they are moving, jumping out of the water, males singing to attract females, slapping the water's surface with their fins, tails, or heads. Or you may join a whale watching tour boat in the Kalohi Channel - Kaunakakai. We hope you enjoy these amazing giants!
Molokai is a special place with so much history, adventure, tranquility and.... the fastest way to slow down. If that still doesn’t entice you for a Molokai vacation, call me with your questions and I’m delighted to answer your questions. Mahalo.

So glad we had A/C in the condo as it was really muggy during our stay. We had a lot of rain so we watched a few movies with the variety of streaming options on the TV. Excellent view of the grounds, pool and ocean. Loved sitting out on the lanai. Everyone at the complex was very friendly. Great location to the store and restaurants. Great communication with the owner.

The bed had a layer of foam on it making it too soft and uncomfortable. I should have removed it but I wasn't sure if it was placed there by the owner.The a/c was perfect.

I travel extensively using booking sites like Vrbo for nearly all stays. This is the first time that I have written a negative review about a host.On check-in day, still no check-in info. I sent host a Vrbo msg. No reply for 3 hours. I called Vrbo support. The host calls and says check-in info was in “welcome email”. I told her I didn’t receive it. She asks, “why didn’t you let me know that you did not receive it?”. At one point she says, “I am German. I am very organized”.In condo, I text that I can’t find washer/dryer in unit. “There must be some miscommunication, they aren’t in the unit. They are in a separate building and require coins. The code to laundry room must be obtained from office. Today is Sunday so office is closed.” Other properties list these as “Coin laundry”.Then she texts, “Tomorrow you need to register at office and pay 30.” “Pay 30 for what?”. “It is listed in my Welcome letter. The admin office charges for registration/parking.” “Your listing states ‘Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees’”. She calls and denies it is hidden because it is a condo office charge, and she discloses it in welcome email after booking. I told her that is the very definition of a hidden fee and I refused to pay a fee that wasn’t included in the total booking amount.Final text from host, “FYI I’m a super host with Vrbo for 11 years. I have no control of fees added by the homeowner association…they are not part of my billing and I never had any problems..."
