About this cottage rental
This charming Saltbox Cottage and Guest Bunkie are located in a small out port called Bauline. Bauline is located at the base of a 1000-foot high mountain where publicly groomed trails will lead you to the summit. This quaint, modern and very clean, ocean front century home has a lovely western view of Conception Bay and the village's lobster/crab fishing port. The Saltbox Cottage is located just 15 minutes from St. John's. Sunsets in Bauline are spectacular, especially while sipping on a cocktail on your own private, 300 square foot patio. Beside the property is a babbling brook that will serenade you to blissful slumber.
Originally built in 1892, the Saltbox is carefully renovated to accommodate modern amenities however; we have attempted to keep a lot of the original character. Notice the stairs leading to the second floor are worn by over 100 years of traffic. The Guest Bunkie is newly built and just a few steps away from the cottage.

Stunning ocean front views from your private deck with lounge and dining furniture and seating for 8 guests. The main floor of the cottage boasts a large living room with light streaming in and windows throughout, a fireplace for cool mornings. There is a bright powder room, washer / dryer, large dining room with seating for 6 and a large full kitchen with a second dining table. The second floor boasts a large, bright, airy master bedroom with king bed, crisp linens and windows for spectacular ocean views. Across the bright hall you will enjoy a clean, modern, full size washroom with tile floor and stunning views of the ocean and harbor. The second bedroom on this floor has two twin beds with decorated with beautiful bright linens and windows that offer views of the ocean and harbor.
This beautiful property comes with wireless internet, cable TV, VCR, stereo, large private 300 square foot deck with great panoramic ocean views, with outdoor patio furniture, 4 Muskoka lounge chairs with foot stools, and BBQ.
The bright, modern Guest Bunkie offers large windows with stunning ocean views, plush king size bed with crisp linens and one half bathroom with sink and toilet.
Please note: The Saltbox is not suggested for the elderly as the staircase, although beautiful, is fairly narrow. Also, the shower does not have a handrail.

We absolutely loved this spot! It was perfect for a family - we were here with our 3 grandchildren- they fished, they explored and they relaxed. The view was spectacular- we saw whales and dolphins from their deck on our first day! There were books, games, toys, yoga mats , weights - we used them all! We also fished for cod and bought local lobster - both were delicious! We also hiked the big hill ! Definitely would recommend to anyone - a magical spot!

we arrived very late, so couldnt see outside. what a surprise when we got up in the morning ... amazing million dollar views. Great place to stay outside of St Johns.

Saltbox Bauline: What a nice place, still a bit 1892, with its steep narrow stairs and its old bedroom door that doesn‘t properly fit, thus adding historical flavor. But otherwise perfectly modern, cosy and comfortable, fully equipped and tastefully furnished. We settled in easily, admired the view of sea and harbor, and blew the house a parting kiss when we left.
