About this house rental
A quaint, clean, updated, 1940s era bungalow-style cabin. Excellent location to call home base for all of your Black Hills adventures. From the Badlands to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse, Custer State Park to Sturgis, you can see everything within a 30-45 minute drive. Two-minute walk to Canyon Lake and Rapid Creek where you find fishing, kayaking and paddle boat rentals. Connected to Rapid City’s extensive bike and walking paths that include a nature trail, dog park and canyon lake park. Ten-minute drive to downtown Rapid City. Located in a quiet, family-oriented neighborhood, with a fenced back yard. Dog friendly for small fee of $10 per dog. Sleeps 4 adults comfortably, loft available for 1 additional person.

This house was the perfect place for us to stay while exploring West South Dakota. It was really cute and a great size for my husband and 2 kids. My older daughter enjoyed sleeping in the loft, though it did get warm at night. Not only was it a relatively short drive to Mt Rushmore, Wind Cave NP, and Badlands NP, but it was great being a short walk from Canyon Lake and several trails.

Great place to stay. Having a washer and dryer was really a terrific bonus after traveling for two weeks.

Quiet, cozy cabin close to all the attractions. Chad and Tara were great hosts and responded quickly to any questions I had. Would definitely stay here again if I find myself in South Dakota again!

It looks very good from the outside. Decorated really nice. But is not too efficient. The Skylight in the bathroom and the kitchen on a sunny day makes the house extremely warm. Cobwebs on the ceilings, on the fans and spider webs in the bathroom. Air conditioner is right next to the stove, which has no vent, so all the cooking smoke goes into the air conditioner and totally blocks the coils. So on a 96 day the house was 82 degrees and not very bearable. The kitchen was remodeled and the countertops were not screwed down so when you put something on it they move. The kitchen sink was not secured so when you put things around it it moves. The stove / oven had all the markings on the knobs ripped off so you couldn't tell which was all off or the temperature . And the timer didn't have a knob on it so it wasn't set right in the oven wouldn't come on . I did call the owner and he came over fairly quick and got the timer set and the knobs adjusted so I could turn on but they still had no markings on it .Overall it's a nice place but the owners are reactive to anything you call them about, but they are not proactive. The air conditioner should never have been in that condition. Who knows how much mildew and Greece we breathe in when the air conditioner was running. The price was okay if everything would have been working great. I think that for the condition it was in we were overcharged
