They were upgrading the facilities and should be Great. The owner was great!

The room was recently updated. They did an amazing job it was super nice. High tech bathroom with heated floors! Beds are very comfortable and the room was clean. They replaced towels and emptied trash daily. It was so nice 🙂 The coffee they provided is very delicious!

The TV Internet company was giving them some issues.

No chairs, no table, no closet or hangers and no luggage rack. We had to place everything on the floor.

The location was the only real positive. It was centrally located, near the freeway but on the opposite side from the ocean...so a long walk to the beach OR a car necessary to get anywhere meaningful. I did walk my service dog (I'll get to that in a minute) in the neighborhood, which was a nice quiet neighborhood & I did cross the highway to the beach once. It was a very long walk.

When I did check in with my Service Dog the resident manager stated that there is a fee for the dog. I stated that he is a service dog. He then asked for my "registration number". I was sincerely confused. Bottom line I informed him that per the ADA that is not required or legal. He told me that he was new & just following orders. The owner has an app installed that he enters the "registration number" & will then know if my service dog is fake or not. I told him that is not true. I've travel to Hawaii w/my service dog twice with no registration number required; just the required airline forms, a well-trained dog trained to perform tasks to help me with my disability. He even asked if I had any proof of my disability. WTH? I said I have a placard. He could see that I was not going to be forced into anything & finally said, "I'll let you slide this time". I said, "I don't know about letting me slide. It's a federal law." He said people try to pass their pets off as service dogs. I was curious about the "data base" the owner had a supposed app for. So I Googled if there was such a data base. OF COURSE, there isn't. After summarizing my experience with checking in, google stated what I already knew...That the manager & owner were breaking the law & opening up the hotel & themselves for a lawsuit. The next morning I asked Robert, the manager, if he did any research on service dogs and the ADA laws. He said no, he went to bed. I told him I did some research & confirmed there is NO requirements. He can legally ask me 2 questions: 1) Is that a service dog? 2) what task is he trained to perform? Of course, if the dog is aggressive, not well behaved, not house broken, barking nonstop etc then he can refuse the dog. Other than that the stay was pleasant. The first room I was given was so strong of Febreze& no heater. 2nd room was fine.
