Valbona, Xheni (Jenny), and the rest of the family are superhosts! We will remember a lot of positives in the Valbona Valley and Valbona's cooking might be at the top of the list. She makes everything from scratch, or it gets plucked out of the ground on property. Aside from the delicious and filling meals, the cabin we were in was comfortable. There were plenty of blankets to keep us warm, I thought the shelf stand was a thoughtful addition so we had a place to put our gear, and the bathroom was large compared to other guesthouses I have stayed in. The shower water was hot and the beer I ordered was cold. Just how I like it. It was also conveniently located 20 minutes from the end of the Theth to Valbona hike, which was a saving grace after a long trekking day.
We wish we would have booked more nights.

Xheni and her family are outstanding hosts! We were glad that instead of a hotel we picked a family-run guest house: they were very welcoming, their home made meals were super abundant and tasty, and they went above and beyond making us feel welcome. We stayed to do the Valbona - Theth trail and her dad was also able to drive us to the start of the trail, which is definitely worth a few extra Euros to start the 5 / 6 hour trek fresh. Highly recommended!
Finding the entrance was tricky but once they explained the reasons why there is no sign, we totally understood...

Wir haben leider nur eine Nacht bei Xheni verbracht.
Zu Beginn mussten wir ein wenig rumfragen bis wir den richtigen Eingang zur Unterkunft gefunden haben, aber alle im Ort waren sehr hilfsbereit.
Das Haus, der Garten und der ganze Ort sind wunderschön! Ein traumhaftes Panorama ergibt sich einem beim heraustreten des Hauses.
Das guesthouse wird von einer Familie betrieben und ist benannt nach der Tochter. Alle sind super lieb und freundlich!
Wir haben auch dort zu Abend gegessen. Alle Speisen werden mit Zutaten aus dem Garten zubereitet. Ungelogen haben wir dort das beste Essen in ganz Albanien gegessen und das für 15€ pro Person! Unschlagbar!
Wir haben wunderbar geschlafen. Alles war sehr sauber.
Außerdem ist die Unterkunft nicht weit vom Beginn des Valbona Pass entfernt (Ca 2km.).

Wunderschöne Lage zuhinterst im Talkessel des Valbona. Authentische Lokalität innerhalb eines Bauernhof mit liebevollen Gastgebern. Frühstück gibt es vor oder bei schlechtem Wetter in der Hütte. Abendessen kann dazugebucht werden
In Valbona wird es im Oktober auf 1000 Metern Höhe sehr kalt. Das Chalet hat keine Heizung und ist daher eher etwas für den Sommer. Ab September würde ich es nicht mehr empfehlen. Es gibt kein Schild wo das Guesthose liegt, man muss rumfragen, was bei den Englischkenntnissen der Einheimischen nicht so leicht ist.
