The hosts were really nice and welcoming. They had the apartment ready and were right on time - I kept in touch with them via WhatsApp to inform them of our arrival.
Apartment was clean and really nice with modern fittings and interiors - as shown in the pictures. Beds are very comfortable and its located in a good area - central.
A couple of things:
Language is a big issue -We guess using Google Translate - they told us Visa card would be acceptable upon check in to make the payment - however, they showed up with their Visa Card and asked us to transfer money to their card online - something we couldn't do as tourists because you need a local bank account and Visa app to do that! Due to this misunderstanding - a lot of time was wasted in trying to understand how to make the necessary payment to check in (they do not have a card machine). After a lot of back and forth - I was able to tell them that I have most of the money in USD (luckily I was carrying cash and had even exchanged around $100 at the airport for Taxi etc) and the balance I would pay in Som which I had from the airport exchanged. It took sometime - but they understood and then it will all good.
Apartment is located very well - a little walk from Alisher Navoi Street - BUT - its really DARK as the roads are not very well lit in Uzbekistan - even though its a big city and main road! The walk from the main road to the building is almost impossible without a mobile torch and is a little lonely to walk alone. We were a couple so it was ok.
They left a bag of things which had a used Soda Can and other stuff lying around in the apartment which I had to remove. It wasn't a hassle as such - but not a pleasant thing to find upon check in.
Foul smell in the living room bathroom and no hand washing soap - the bottle had water filled in it and no soap. We used the shower gel instead.
A BIG clothing stand with a lot of cloths drying was left near the window - making movement around it restricted and a hassle. One would thing all the cloths used for cleaning the apartment would be taken with them - but they left it in the apartment - again not a pleasant thing to look at.
