La Ferme De La Bete Noire

Thieffrain is a very quiet village in the area of Troyes, easily accessible from the motorway. From the outside the village road has old farms and houses, giving no indication of how well rebuilt and comfortable the interior might be: La Ferme de La Bete Noir has been very well renovated and decorated. We were made very welcome by our hosts. Our room was large, opening into the garden, with its seperate toilet and large shower room. The bed was large and comfortable, and the room clean and well prepared. Breakfast included fresh eggs, and cheeses (and freshly cooked pancakes in response to our lament the previous evening that we had not yet found any on our journey!) It was served in an area adjacent to the kitchen, which gave a very convivial place to improve our french, and learn about the development and practice of this smallholding. We were introduced to the rabbits and chickens, and enjoyed a walk along the main road with two lovable donkeys on their way home from pasture!

There was a large adjacent cupboard to store luggage, but an additional shelf next to a power source in the bedroom would have made the recharging of telephones and electric toothbrushes easier.

We hebben hier overnacht op onze terugweg naar België. Anne en Emmanuel zorgden voor een fantastische afsluiter van onze reis. Op hun prachtige domein hebben zij een fantastische bio droom gerealiseerd waar ze dan ook met veel passie over praten. Ook voor baby/kindjes heel leuk om de diertjes te zien. Het ontbijt is ook fantastisch en met liefde gemaakt. De locatie is top dicht bij een meer waar je kan zwemmen.

Les propriétaires sont aux petits soins et surtout à l'écoute des enfants qui ont particulièrement apprécié le contact avec les animaux et les explications les concernant. Excellent petit-déjeuner.
