I liked the location of the hotel and hospitality of the Hotel staff
The ground floor is a Convention Hall I guess. It's an eye sore for the customers entering the building on the way to the lift.

Room was very good. The facilities felt like international standards. Breakfast was tasty and hygienic. Overall, it was great value for money. The linens and bathroom were clean and neat.
We 100% recommend this hotel to our family and relatives. Next time I come to Thanjavur, I will definitely stay at Hyders Mahal Hotel again. The manager and staff were very helpful and supportive.

The hotel is quite new, it has opened just a few months ago. So everything was brand new and very clean. Also the staff were extremely helpful with any asks we had. In fact, I left something behind at the hotel - the staff messaged me and then couriered my stuff to me. That was very helpful.
It's not really something I didnt like. Just that as the hotel has opened up very recently, some facilities are still being setup. For example the breakfast is packed breakfast brought from a nearby restaurant. We had to ask for glasses in the room. A lot of the stuff still had plastic covering on them, so we had to ask the staff to get them off (e.g., from the mattress). So I see them just as teething problems, but the staff made up for all of that with their eagerness and flexibility to help.

The room.
No restaurant. Offered breakfast packed at 9 AM which is not acceptable. Asked for entire payment during check in which is strange.
