Found the 10am a little early and unable to use the facilities to accommodate breakfast We stayed here for an overnight and found the communication from the proprietor to be excellent. Prior to arrival, we received clear and detailed instructions, making access to the property straightforward and stress-free. The accommodation itself was generally clean and tidy, and the bedrooms were comfortable. However, several aspects of the property fell below the standard we would expect and detracted from our overall experience. The exterior of the property is poorly maintained and creates a disappointing first impression. Various discarded personal belongings and miscellaneous items have been left around the surrounding areas, giving the property a cluttered, neglected, and untidy appearance. This is unfortunate, as the outside presentation does not reflect the effort made with the accommodation itself. We also had concerns regarding the cleanliness and hygiene of the shared facilities. The shower room and separate WC were not presented to a standard we would expect for incoming guests. A dish beside the sink contained several used bars of hand soap left by the Proprietor which we found unhygienic and believe should have been removed before our arrival. In addition, the floor mats in both the shower room and WC appeared used and could have been replaced with freshly laundered mats. These details gave the impression that the facilities had not been thoroughly checked or properly refreshed between guests. While we appreciated the host’s excellent communication and found the accommodation adequate for our stay, greater attention to the external appearance of the property and the cleanliness of the communal facilities is needed. Addressing these issues would significantly improve the overall guest experience.
