The accommodation was spacious, new, clean and fully air-conditioned. It is a newly built two-storey, two-bedroom house, with secure parking and outdoor space for laundry. It has a full kitchen, living area, and two bathrooms. All the furniture and bedding were of the same standard as an expensive hotel. It was essentially like an Airbnb.
We were an extended family group of 4 adults and three small children. So staying in a house was a far superior option for us than hotel rooms. We felt that we had plenty of room and could easily make meals for the small kids with the large fridge, kettle, toaster, hotplate, and microwave. We also did washing, which strangely seemed like a luxury rather than a chore.
This accommodation wasn't central, but it is in a new area set to become the more upscale part of Ubon, featuring new houses and lakeside views. We had a hire car (easily obtained from the airport) and found that anywhere we went in Ubon (the candle festival, restaurants, airport, etc) was no more than a 10-minute drive.
We wished we could have stayed longer.
