I love the location. The rooms are good value , will return regularly for work stays. Really comfy beds , spacious rooms . I didn’t initially realise that there was facilities to cook , so that’s great . Best value for money rooms in the Southampton area.
Some nights you get loud noise from work men that’s extremely loud. I slipped in the bathroom badly as people don’t mop the floors after themselves

I need to stay overnight in Southampton once a week. By now, I have stayed in this place twice. I would say it is a relatively safe place within walking distance of the University and the shopping center, including a big Sainsbury's and Argos. This is really a bonus, as late at night, you can walk from the University and on your way, buy what you need.
The owner is quite communicative. And honestly, they have done their best to upkeep the place. Considering the price, I paid £24 for a night, it was the most affordable place in Southampton.
First of all, I think most of the 10-score reviews are absolutely fake to increase the rating! The first night, a homeless man was in the bathroom in front of room no. 4, with all his suitcases open, and the bathroom was actually unusable. There are sinks in all rooms, which are very useful, but otherwise, if anybody opens the tab in the rooms upstairs, it is so noisy that you will jump if you are asleep. Obviously, cleaners work hard, but the bathrooms are old and dirty. You should close your eyes to take a shower. Also, the beddings aren't new and fresh, with stains here and there. So bring your own cover sheet. There is a kitchen where you can make coffee, warm up or cook food. But there are not enough utensils. You need to bring your forks and spoons, etc,...
There are no-smoking signs all over the place, but you can hear smell of smoking. If you are sensitive like me, it really hurts. Not a fault of the owner, though, as they can't control the inside of all rooms.
Overall, I guess for the price of £20ish, I will continue staying in this place- I noticed they increased it to £41!- because it answers my simple requirement, which is mainly sleeping for a couple of hours somewhere close to the university. But if they raise the price, I'll find another place.
