Not as described, no working air conditioning, and no satisfactory resolution despite repeated attempts.

Location

I am writing this review reluctantly. The owner asked us not to leave negative feedback, and we genuinely hoped this matter could be resolved privately. We therefore delayed leaving a review while trying repeatedly to resolve the issues with both the property and Booking.com. Unfortunately, despite numerous messages, we have still not received a satisfactory resolution or even a substantive response. Our experience was very different from what was advertised. The apartment’s air conditioning repeatedly failed throughout the first night during extremely hot weather. We had specifically messaged the property before arrival to confirm that the air conditioning was working because it was important to us, and we were assured that it was. Sadly, this was not our experience. We also found food left in the refrigerator by previous guests, which was disappointing from a hygiene perspective. We reported the problems immediately, provided photographs and videos, and ultimately had no reasonable option but to leave and book alternative accommodation at short notice. Although a partial refund has been made, we have still not received a full refund for the unusable accommodation, despite paying £370.64, nor have we been reimbursed for the additional cost of securing replacement accommodation. We did not want to leave a negative review. However, after making every effort to resolve this matter privately and receiving no meaningful response, we feel it is only fair to share our experience so that future guests can make an informed decision.

Excellent location

Location was fabulous. Hosts kept in touch by whatsapp and allowed us to leave luggage there on morning of arrival. Bed very comfortable.

Portable air con meant the window and shutters had to stay open for vent so wasn't very effective and very noisy.

Comfortable flat in a perfect location for a visit to Verona

The location was perfect. It is right by the bus stop from the railway station (the owners told us which buses we could take) and close to the Arena and within easy walking distance of all the sights in the centre of Verona. There is a good cafe opposite, perfect for breakfast (or lunch). The apartment is spacious and appears to to have been refurbished recently. There were plenty of electric sockets. There were hooks, coathangers and a chest of drawers for clothes. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The wifi signal was strong and reliable. The kitchen area is equipped with a fridge, hob and microwave and plenty of utensils. We could have made meals here ourselves. There are some supermarkets in the centre of Verona but they are harder to find than medieval churches and Renaissance palaces! We contacted the owners before our visit and they told us how to get there and brought the check-in time forward.

We stayed for five nights and our bedding and towels were not changed in this period. The weather was very hot and it would have been better if they could have been changed at least once. The air conditioning did not work. The owners knew this and were going to get it repaired just after our stay. The electric fan was a life-saver. We kept the shutters closed most of the time as the flat gets the sun most of the day. The shower is quite small and would been difficult for a large person. Water pressure was not very strong, but adequate.
