It felt as though we had rented not just a house with a pool, but our own private clearing at the edge of the forest.
The property is enormous, and we had the entire place to ourselves. It offers genuine privacy, with hammocks, swings and plenty of space for children to explore. The house has two comfortable bedrooms, mosquito screens on the windows, air conditioning, and a wonderful veranda overlooking the mountains.
After several days of travelling with our two children, aged five and eight, this was exactly the place we needed to slow down, rest and recharge. The swimming pool was excellent, with beautifully clean water.
The house has a relaxed, rustic country-house atmosphere rather than the polished feel of a hotel, which suited the natural setting well.
The owner is a kind and helpful person. He introduced us to a local woman from the village above who raises cows, and we were able to buy wonderfully fresh cheese and milk directly from her. A peaceful and memorable stay surrounded by nature.
