Honey trap was such an experience. It's a beautiful place to stay in El-Nido
The site and the environment is just mesmerising.
- It's very clean and cozy.
- Great facilities.
- Swimming pool with a gorgeous view.
- Breakfast is delicious.
Massive flaw in communication and service by staff.
- I booked this place for an engagement surprise / romantic retreat. I messaged Ms D many weeks in advance via WhatsApp to book a romantic set up on a specific date which cost 8500 pesos. The day before the surprise i went to Karuna to check if everything is okay as no one was replying on WhatsApp.
On the day of the proposal few hours before I take my partner to honey trap for the proposal, I receive an unfortunate call from Ms D saying that the set up cannot be done apparently due to potential rain (it didn't rain that day). I was disappointed as to how last minute this was. I suggested to have the romantic set up inside the Honey trap instead and she said okay. I didn't get any text updates or any photo message when I kindly asked for updates as I wanted it to know if its going to be done on time and I wanted it be as perfect as possible, understandably for this type of occasion.
At this point I was very anxious and worried that it would not go as planned as I wasn't getting any support or updates from the staff. I had to ask 2 of my friends to personally visit Honey trap and check if everything was okay and for my peace of mind. My friend informed me that when they got into the honey trap the bed wasn't even cleaned and there was no sense of urgency at all from the staff. My friends had to help set up the engagement surprise and made sure it was done.
The surprise was booked for 4pm and It happened at 6pm.
- Karuna offers pick up from and to the city. We asked for a pick up via WhatsApp and We waited nearly an hour for it. I asked if it's coming and we've only received a reply that it was going to be late when we already on a tricycle to Karuna.
Despite all these! and other than that my stay was epic and I will still rate Honey Trap by Karuna a solid 7 as I believe this problem will be sorted out. Hopefully next time I can give a 10. I will find out on my next visit! :)
