Good apartment in great location

This apartment is in the perfect location. It is close to old town and the view from the balcony is amazing. The apartment is spacious and it has almost everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Good supermarket is nearby.

The fact that we had to arrive until 5pm to check in made us change our plans and to hurry. This was not convinient. No blackout curtains in the bedroom and blinders didn't work. The bathtub was not comfortable to take shower. Parking was a challenge one evening; we had to circle around until we found a spot.

If you keep asking the arrival time, be ready-guests lost in heavy rain w/o Name.

Check-in experience: unusually stressful and lacking in basic guest care. This apartment had an unusual check-in time between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., so I requested to check in around 2 p.m. The owner agreed and asked me to contact her 20 minutes before arrival, to which I replied promptly. However, as the check-in date approached, she repeatedly reminded me — twenty times — despite my confirmations. Two days before arrival, these reminders intensified. On the day of arrival, the weather was terrible — heavy rain with thunder. I drove about an hour from the town of Sauve to the apartment and informed he of the approximate arrival time. Still, she sent repeated messages and WhatsApp notifications asking for updates every ten minutes. This made the drive stressful, as I had to respond constantly while navigating bad weather. Upon arrival, finding the owner was another challenge. Even though I knew the apartment’s street address, I did not know her family name or what name was displayed on the intercom, so I could not even know which button to press. In strongly pouring rain, with thunder and cold weather, we waited outside for 15 minutes before locating her. This is clearly an area that could be improved. I also asked several times whether basic essentials would be provided, but all such questions were ignored. Meanwhile, the owner continued to insist on knowing exactly what time we would arrive ignoring the bad weather which diturbed the traffic. This lack of response to important guest needs, contrasted with the constant reminders about arrival time, felt insincere. Overall, this was not a pleasant check-in experience.

The worst check-in and the worst conmfort.

The owner’s view of what is essential for guests is quite unusual. Upon arrival, there was only a partially used roll of toilet paper and no shampoo or shower gel. Despite asking several times where extra supplies were, I received no reply until five hours later — only after pointing out that toilet paper is listed as an essential on Booking.com. While the apartment provided various detergents, coffee capsules, leftover jam, cotton pads for makeup removal, adhesive bandages, and other items, these are not what most guests would consider essential, and such items cannot replace basic toiletries. For a guest, sufficient toilet paper and toiletries should be a priority — this, to most guests, in my humble opinion, is the true meaning of essential hospitality.

Nous avons rencontré un ange qui s'appelle Karine. Elle est très gentille et très conviviale. L'emplacement est top avec une vue magnifique sur l'eau. La terrasse est très agréable. Elle avait tout prévu pour le petit déjeuner. Au niveau commodités, rien ne manquait. L'appartement est très calme. Un séjour rapide mais super. On reviendra si on peut.
