This stay sits in the heart of the Hengfu Historical District—the area once known as the French Concession—and it offers a Shanghai that feels worlds away from the crowds of Nanjing East Road and the Bund. For anyone hoping to slow down and explore the city properly over a few days, this is an ideal base. The homestay is tucked inside a traditional Shanghai alleyway where everyday life still unfolds—neighbours chatting, laundry in the breeze—yet it is fully self-contained, with its own private entrance. The frontage is immaculately kept and easy to find, and the interior is just as clean. Step outside, and you're immediately in a lively pocket of the city, surrounded by trendy shops and cafés. Considering the location, the privacy, and the condition of the space, the value here is genuinely hard to beat.

Подвальное помещение, мало воздуха и света. Номер уставший и требует косметического ремонта.

Perfect location in a trendy neighborhood, within walking distance to the metro station, the house is inside a gated community that allowed blending in with the local people. Very friendly security guards.
We had a flooding problem in our last night there due to the heavy rainfall that resulted us into mopping the ground floor.

Fijn gelegen, goed contact met verhuurder, veel ruimte, echt Chinees wijkje
We moesten ons aanmelden bij de politie. Online lukte niet en daarna 3 x van kastje naar de muur gestuurd. Duurde een halve dag. Kan de eigenaar niks aan doen maar omdat het geen hotel is moet dit wel gebeuren. En het plafond is te laag voor iemand van 1.95
$$$$
