Chandlers Bar and Rooms

Our all time favorite place to stay in chesterfield! Beautiful room with lovely decor! Comfortable bed with lovely thick duvet and chunky pillows!

The decor is really cool throughout the building - everything was clean, tidy and the added extras in the mini fridge made it feel like a home from home. The ceiling fan was particularly cool, and the bed was ridiculously comfy! The entrance to the rooms is on the side of the building so you don’t need to enter the bar to get in. We also had just eat deliver with no problems. Cocktails downstairs were 10/10 and the staff were more than welcoming!

Good location, good size room, modern bathroom, great size terrace. Comfy bed and good quality bedding and towels. Interesting light fittings.

Overall first impresson of Room 3 was very good but then more things kept showing up. Only one teabag for two people but in the end it didn't matter as the milk had gone off and was quite smelly so couldn't have a brew in the morning. No point reporting it as we were going home. The one complimentary small cake was hard as rock, almost impossible to cut to share between us so chucked it away. Water had been left in the kettle which should never happen, it should be left empty. The bathroom tap needs a good clean along the channel where the water flows out. Also the container for shampoo in the shower just kept falling off so pretty useless. The sealant on the shower base was black in some places but there was a bottle of bleach in the bathroom cupboard which if used would have cleaned it. In the middle drawer of the desk I found an opened half empty bag of crisps, an empty chocolate wrapper and a bag of cookies dated 28/08, quite a few days before our stay. Most of the drawers need hoovering out. All of these are just basic cleaning requirements. The french doors were very difficult to lock. A lot more attention to detail is required in the room as it spolied what should have been a pleasant visit. Ok, so now we are on to the entrance area and stairs, again these need a thorough clean, the plants are very dusty and there is quite a musty smell, not a great first impression.
