This beautiful cottage was just perfect for our 2 night stay in Newtown. Our only regret is that we didn't book for longer.
Severn Up is not only quaint and traditional but has been given full attention to what might be needed to have a hassle free, easy stay.
Arriving on Sunday afternoon at 3pm, we were particularly drawn to the spotless cleanliness of this cottage. There was milk in the fridge and a lovely supply of waffles and Welsh cakes. There was an information pack left on the lounge table packed full of local knowledge and also of details of everything inside the cottage, from heating to how to get quickly into the town.
The kitchen/dining area was packed full of more than essential items for catering (even a food mixer!)
Bathroom is on the ground floor and had complimentary full size shower/hair products and the shower was superb with unbelievably soft water!
The stairs were agreeably a little narrow (as some other reviews have stated) but we had no trouble negotiating them during the night as the auto lights on them lit the way.
The bed!!! Oh my...I could have smuggled that home. The best 2 nights sleep I have had for ages. Soft, warm duvet and a big size!
The view from the kitchen/lounge was amazing. It was like having our own bird hide!
The well maintained decking area is undoubtedly a sun trap.
The hosts themselves, Craig and Sue are totally lovely. They definitely want a comfortable stay for their guests and they go 100% all the way to achieve that.
We would visit again in a heartbeat!
It was tranquil, peaceful, and extremely enjoyable!

It’s a gorgeous cottage, with a lovely outdoor space. It’s spotlessly clean. The owners really went out of their way to make the stay special. They added lots of little extras that were really appreciated.
Probably not an issue for most, but I don’t like sprung mattresses. Everything else was great.

It was very quiet area and easy to let ourselves in.
The bed was very comfortable and it was cosy. Morrisons local and Aldi, pub walkable.

The property was cosy with good provisions i.e. welcome pack(butter, bara brith, welsh cakes), tea coffee etc enough crockery, pots, pans etc. Comfy bed. Outdoor area was pleasant.
Communication and instructions from the owners were good.
The bathroom off the kitchen was not ideal, the hand basin difficult to reach. The staircase was awkward and would benefit from a small handrail attached to the wall. The carpet in the bedroom had little/no underlay, squeaky floorboards and easy to trip over edges where segments of carpet adjoin. The sofa wasn’t very comfy.
