The location was a block from Main Street where all the shops and restaurants were yet it was very quiet at night. Deer wandering the street! Best of all was the little bar in the back with Maggie as the the host. She is the heart of the motel, welcoming and so easy to talk with. Comfortable bed. Room was very clean, lots of nice towels!
We wish a single cabin had been available. We were in a small duplex type room with another room next to us that was pretty tight on space. There was a Kuerig coffee maker and coffee pods but no cups. Fortunately we had our own cups. Small frig and micro were fine. We would stay again but would book a cabin with more room.

Our cabin was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We loved having the tap house on property and Maggie is a gem. She is friendly, fun to chat with and a wealth of information about the area. The convenience to downtown was a plus.
We were only staying for two nights so we just got the small cabin. It was comfortable but just small with only a hotel size fridge. I just didn’t want to “oversell” it by giving it a 10.

Quiet spot in a quiet little town. Comfortable bed. Friendly, attentive staff.
We did not get a cabin although we reserved 2 months in advance and, going by the name, expected one - our room was in a 4-unit building. Heater had no way to set the temperature (staff brought a different one). Microwave was quite unintuitive (and we've seen hundreds): needs instructions! Rooms in the Black Hills seem to be in short supply during peak season, so reserve early.
