The location was perfect, but we did say a welcome basket would have been nice.
Almost everything we need was in the cottage.
Inn next door was great so was the food.
Very close to the wall and only 11/2 miles to the sycamore gap.
The hooks in bathroom that you cannot hang towels on( give it a try)they just slid off.
No clothes line or airer to be found to hang clothes out when it’s hot.
The road was a bit noisy.
Could do with a fan or 2, even if you charge a fee that you return once you have the fans back, because it was so hot upstairs.
Oh and the flies, hundreds of then( we know it was probably the heat and thankfully there was some spray in cupboard.
Overall a great place.

This is a property we nearly overlooked on our search for a place to stay as it is new on the market and had no reviews so I'm posting this up to redress this issue for others.
Firstly, the property has everything you need in terms of mod cons, kitchen facilities and space. Small details like strong wifi speed, access to apps on the TV after a day of walking, a selection of good books/jigsaws and even an air fryer are all available. It's slightly secluded away and if peace and quiet is your aim then this is the place to stay.
The property is dog friendly and has a dedicated crate and room for dogs though this might have been a bit cold for our little Shih Tzu who spent time in her own crate in the kitchen area.
For astronomers, it's a real haven as dark skies (bortle 2-3) await and those interested can see more (autumn 2025) on 'Adventures in Astronomy' YouTube channel. The location is also within walking distance of the Twice Brewed pub and the famous Sycamore Gap site. The surrounding roads are also within fast and easy reach of places within a 15-20 mile radius.
Although there are two toilets, there is only one bathroom with a shower so if you have a larger family, factor in a bathroom queue!
