Rustic, eclectic… and architecturally adventurous!
We stayed here for four nights while attending a wedding in Ginestas, and the location was absolutely excellent for what we needed. So let’s start with the positives: great location, comfy bed, and the listing and photographs are, to be fair, pretty accurate. You can indeed see the eclectic mix of furniture — including the garden furniture which has been promoted to indoor sofa status. Rustic and eclectic doesn’t quite cover it, but points for originality!
Now for the more memorable features…
The toilet and kitchen are separated by what is a fence panel rather than a permanent wall. Yes, you read that correctly. Nothing quite says intimate open-plan living like being able to cook dinner while maintaining a conversational relationship with the toilet. Although, in fairness, you can put the kettle on while sitting on the toilet, so perhaps this is actually the property’s USP. Multitasking at its finest. You can’t fill the kettle up though because it doesn’t fit in the ‘2nd bathroom sink’ that has been put in the kitchen!
Privacy is another interesting concept. If someone needs to go in or out while you’re using the loo, you may need to perfect the art of strategic timing, as you can see straight out into the hallway. Not quite the bathroom experience most people are used to!
The fridge is positioned in a particularly creative location, making getting things in and out something of a challenge, while the holes in the floor covered with lino add an unexpected element of adventure to simply walking around.
The practicalities could definitely do with some attention too. Four nights, one toilet roll, two coffee pods, one towel per person and no hand towel or bin bag. So if you enjoy a holiday where household supplies become a strategic resource-management exercise, you’re onto a winner.
