This apartments is right in the Old Town of Villefranche-sur-mer - a protected pedestrian area that can never be changed. It's not in the middle of the tourist shops, though, so it isn't affected much by any street noise. The local supermarket is just along the street, and the baker's shop is just up the hill (a stiff walk but worth it for the fantastic fresh pastries in the morning!). The harbour is maybe 50 yards away. The beach is just a stroll past the harbour. There are dozens of lovely restaurants and cafés, some overlooking the water, all at different prices. The apartment had everything that I needed. It has a functional kitchen, and I could have cooked if I wanted to - but those French restaurants are so much better! The WiFi worked great. The location of this apartment is ideal. Villefranche-sur-mer is the one place on the Riviera that really looks and feels like you think the Riviera should.
The fold-down double sofa/bed took me a few minutes to work out - but that was because I was thinking that it was going to be difficult. In fact. it was very easy to open up and put back. The apartment is up one flight of stairs - but you have to expect that in a building that was built in the 1600s!

Nada a apontar.
