Disappointing Stay and Inadequate Support
Together with my family of four, I stayed at Casa Zakynthos Cozy City Escape from 8 to 15 August 2026.
Upon arrival, we discovered that the bathroom sink was broken and leaking heavily. We reported the issue immediately to both the accommodation company and Booking.com. While the accommodation company's representative responded promptly, Booking.com provided only automated messages. As no technician was available during the weekend, we had to live with the problem until Monday afternoon, two days after reporting it.
Unfortunately, this was not the only issue. The apartment was not properly cleaned despite a cleaning fee being charged. The cooker was old, dirty, and very slow. Kitchen equipment was outdated and in some cases unusable. Bed linens were thin, wrinkled, and did not appear freshly changed. There was a dirty rug in the kitchen, the dining area was being used to store a toilet bucket and mop, and one bedroom lacked a wardrobe.
Overall, the apartment's condition, cleanliness, and atmosphere fell far below the standard we reasonably expected based on the listing, photos, and price paid.
After submitting a complaint, we were offered a refund of only about 13% of the amount paid. Given the number of issues, we did not consider this adequate. We also never received a personal response from Booking.com.
Potential guests should be aware that the listing photos appear heavily edited. In reality, the apartment is much darker and receives far less natural light than the images suggest.
In its current condition, we cannot recommend this apartment.
