You couldn't really ask for a better location. Although the hotel's not in Sozopol Old Town, it's on the isthmus linking the Old Town to the New and offers rooms with views over the harbour. The room we had was a good size, was very clean and comfortable and had a huge balcony which became something of a sun-trap in the afternoon. The staff were friendly and nice touches included the photographs of old Sozopol on the walls of the corridors. We were rather fearing that it might be a bit noisy but it wasn't at all. Guests also receive a "hotel passport" that entitles them to 10 percent off prices at the hotel's bar/restaurant. Price-wise we got a good deal because it's coming up to the end of the season (80 euros a night rather than 100 euros) - I'm not sure it would quite warrant the full price, but prices on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast have gone through the roof this year and will no doubt go even higher when Burgas hosts the Eurovision next year - so this hotel may well prove to be a good compromise when the profiteers push the prices up even higher.
Nothing - other than a slightly weird inconsistency over the supply of coffee pods for the coffee machine in our room. Depending on which receptionist happened to be on shift, we were either given two a day for free or asked to pay for them - we did always end up getting them for free, but having to argue for something that it said quite clearly when we booked was included (and the receptionist who checked us in told us were free) was stupidly irritating.
