Unacceptable hygiene and extremely poor communication

One of our WORST experiences with accommodation booked through Booking.com. We had booked 4 nights but left after the first night due to the condition of the accommodation. The main problem was a very unpleasant smell in the bedroom. While looking for the source, we discovered that the bed linen smelled of urine. When we removed it to wash it, we found a heavily stained mattress that also smelled strongly of urine. Unfortunately, there were other problems as well. The dishes in the kitchen were dirty and had to be washed before use, but there were no basic supplies such as dishwasher tablets or laundry detergent. The bathroom sink was clogged, and the shower leaked, leaving a large puddle of water on the floor. We informed the host about these serious hygiene and maintenance issues but received no response. The host finally responded almost 29 hours LATER saying that someone was at the property to treat the mattress and asking whether we were there. By that time, we had already left and found alternative accommodation because we could not wait indefinitely without any communication. In their later response, the host did not address any of the other problems we had reported. Regarding the mattress, they claimed that the stains were caused by the bed frame. However, the stains were on the top sleeping surface of the mattress, not underneath, so this explanation did not make sense. Despite all of this, the host refuses to refund us for the remaining three nights that we did not stay there. A clean bed, basic hygiene, functioning facilities and reasonable communication are the minimum we expect from any accommodation.

Eccellente

Posto bellissimo, il sig. Antonio davvero gentile e disponibile a ogni richiesta.
