Out of our two weeks' worth of properties in Japan, this was our favourite. The host is a delightful lady who is eager to help and who has created a lovely, homely and extremely well-equipped property. If anything, the photos don't do the property justice, creating the air of a remote cabin that is a bit rustic. In fact, the property is not particularly old, everything works and is extremely comfortable. It sits just outside the town and is next door to the host's house which is quite reassuring. It's not the location for a walk into town but is the perfect base for exploring the wider area by car and we wished we had stayed longer. If you want to explore the Biei area to visit the lavender farms etc, it is well located near main roads and you can be in Furano quickly. The host brings breakfast on a tray each morning - again, possibly the best food we had during our stay.
If you accept that you do really need a car when you are there, I can't think of anything.

I had a truly wonderful stay. The house is beautiful, incredibly comfortable, and full of charm. As a Ghibli fan, it felt like stepping into a Ghibli movie, which made the experience even more special.
The hospitality was exceptional, and I felt genuinely welcomed from the moment I arrived.
The breakfast was absolutely unforgettable. Even after living in Japan for three years and trying many Japanese breakfasts, this was by far the best I have ever had. Every dish was carefully prepared, delicious, and made with so much care. I was honestly amazed.
The house is a little isolated, so it’s worth planning ahead if you don’t have a car or want to buy food nearby. That said, the peaceful surroundings are part of its charm, and it was absolutely worth it for such a unique and relaxing experience.
Thank you for creating such a warm and memorable stay. If I visit Hokkaido again, I would love to stay here again, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, peaceful, and heartfelt Japanese experience.

Best place we tried in Hokkaido until now.
The guest is very friendly, the accommodation has all what you need and more!
There is a nice place where you can read manga, play some games or watch a movie.
If you stay several days, you can cook in the fully equipped kitchen, there are several store at 5 min by car.
And best of all… the Japanese breakfast that the guest did for us.
