Stay elsewhere

There were a couple of nice restaurants within a few blocks. Market around the corner. AC worked.

I actually don't know how I wound up in this place. The cab that brought us stopped in front of a solid gate and told us this was the address. It was nondescript and had no signage. I called the owners 3 times, each time went directly to a busy signal. Then tried to reach them through the Booking.com app. Their messages are only in French, and I don't speak French. Finally, they said I owed a deposit of $300 before we could get into the gate. (Haven't checked yet to see if it was refunded). I tried to pay this on American Express, and AmEx said it was a scam. Eventually got that taken care of and put in the code to get into the entry area. It was a large gravel area with trash cans and lots of weeds. Definitely not a good way to present your property. We were on the top floor, and had to carry luggage up 3 flights of narrow, winding steps. Once we got up there and got into the unit, using a key in a lockbox, it was a small, dingy unit. Roof line created issues with being able to stand up without banging your head. The TV was on the floor, perpendicular to the sofa. One bedroom and one bathroom - we were supposed to have 2. Contacted the owner again. They forgot - we were supposed to have 2 apartments. They then sent me the code to the other lockbox. 2nd apartment was a bit larger, but still had slanting ceilings in every room. Closet rack not tall enough to hang clothes and keep them off the floor. The provided "toiletries" amounted to 4 packets like ketchup packets to be used for shampoo and body wash. 4 packets for 2 adults for 3 nights. We had to go out and buy soap and shampoo. Both showers had clogged drains, so contacted the owners again on the first morning. They did send someone out to clear the drains, and we didn't have problems with that after.

This booking ruined our complete experience about Reims and France.

nothing to like

we don’t recommend to anybody to go through this horrible booking. Extremely unfriendly host in the communication, request for deposit that never realised so I and my wife were robbed with one night cost without actually staying there. We were forced to book another place in Reims for this night. And new host has not mentioned any deposit to be paid. We are advised by our lawyer to take potential court case against Booking and this property owner.
