Lack of communication prior to arrival, no responses to text or email communication and payment was taken at the time of booking. This was not how it was described in the booking information.

If you book to stay here you may not end up staying here!!!

My advice: Avoid Wyndham if at all possible. I booked in June for a stay in October. A few days later I contacted the resort to ask to add an additional night to the booking. They confirmed that this was possible and asked if I wished to proceed (even though I had asked them to "add an additional night if available"). I immediately responded in the affirmative. After receiving no reply to this or a follow-up, after 2 weeks they responded no, they'd not actioned my request, and now the night was no longer available. Consequently I had to find alternative accommodation for that night. In September, one month out from my stay, Wyndham contacted me to say that "the original resort has reached maximum capacity for your dates, so they'll be relocating your stay." Erm, how so? I booked in June so how has my booking suddenly been bumped? After some correspondence it was apparent that there was nothing I could do about this. So I did not stay at the Wyndham Royal Sea Cliff, but at the Club Wyndham Kona Coast Resort. Whilst the accommodation was similar - two-bed apartment, it was very tired and nothing like the pictures on-line for the Royal Sea Cliff. Moreover, the resort is not next to the sea - there is a golf course in the way! At check-in I was informed that "air conditioning is not included in the room price"!!! To use the A/C one would have to pay an additional $16 per night!!! Note that "air conditioning" is listed as one of the features for Wyndham Royal Sea Cliff. Apart from being tired, the accomodation was fine, and it was suitable for my stay, but I remained pretty irritated by the whole experience which is not what you want when you are paying this sort of money for a holiday. This is not the first bad experience with Wyndham in Hawaii, previously I was allocated a room inferior to that booked due to "unfortunate over booking of suitable rooms"!
