Central location, uncomfortable smelly couch and mop destroyed the stay

It's a very central location, the flat is with easy access. There is tea and coffee, sugar, a microwave, a stove top, they leave soaps in the bathroom. The host was responsive and trying to sort things out. At arrival the door handle of my room was broken - this is quite strange, but they repaired it. The host also changed the laundry machine in the bathroom while i was there so there will be one. There is a lady that cleans the common premises (but am not sure about the bathroom). I cleaned the mop with soap and shampoo, but I don't think its my job to do that. These are tiny details that do not cost money. If you ask me the host should not offer the couch at all, its extremely painful to sleep on this, it still hurts my back. The rooms with the normal beds seemed much better. Cost wise is good - about 20-25 euro a night. But this is only for the normal rooms, the couch one should either be closed or changed with a normal bed.

Besides the broken door handle, which was shocking, I entered a room with a smelly, mouldy couch, which had a wooden frame that was really painful to sleep on. It hurt my back every night significantly. The smell of sweat and mould was so strong that even with open window the whole day, when I closed it was smelling again. The couch has not been cleaned with a detergent for quite some time to smell like sweat. Again it still hurts my back from it. The room is extremely small, I had to close the window to stop the noise from outside - it's close to the super centre so there are noisy people all night. But the air is not enough and was waking up from lack of oxygen. Then opening the window meant not sleeping at all afterwards at least half of the four nights. I had to take valerian and sleeping pills to sleep at all and woke up with pain in the back. The towel I was given had a massive brown stain on it - something like dry blood or food. When they removed the broken laundry behind it was a complete disaster and again the smell inside is extremely unbearable. Changing or washing the mop costs few zloties. The toilet brush was also super old. These are tiny details, which together with cleaning the couch could make it bearable. But to be honest I don't think room number 3 with the couch should be offered at all. It's really, really, really painful to sleep on this! I was swollen every day from the lack of air and with back pain. Awful experience.

Everything was excellent.

10 / 10Outstanding·Aug 2026
