What was supposed to be a joyous weekend in Houston celebrating the wedding of my niece was marred by staying at this rental house. For starters, a sweltering 80 degree inside temp and a pea green pool with stagnant debris floating in it met us upon arrival. The iron used for taking out wrinkles transferred a stain onto my new dress and ruined it. Yellow liquid was left at the bottom of the fridge and droppings/crumbs were in a bottom kitchen cabinet. When I alerted property management, it took hours for a response. It gets worse. The master bathroom shower floor tiles were not real, and the plastic coating flaked off and stuck to our feet while taking a shower. There was a crockpot with dried tomato paste on the outside of the stainless steel rim inside one cabinet and an open bag of Sour Patch candy in another. And after I finally got a hold of management to tell them that the front lock keypad didn't work very well, they asked ME to dismantle it and reset it with the battery. Through text, ofc. I didn't have the time to do that, after I had to rush back to the house to grab baby bottles in fridge, the door refused to lock and made me run late the day of the wedding. After all of this, they did not offer compensation or partial refund, but rather, said we could get a late checkout of 1 pm instead of 10 a.m. Even that turned out to be a lie as the housekeeping team showed up at 10 a.m. As it turns out now, my "case" is in "review"...but the fact is, whoever runs this property should be ashamed of themselves, and understand that they showed a lack of integrity in getting a human being on the phone with me. Booking.com should drop this property stat. It's not worthy of their representation until this owner learns some form of basic customer service. I wish there were an "upload files" option to this review, and then you could see the truth for yourselves. Bottom line...There are better options for your stay in Houston.
