It’s was close to the city centre and it was a good sized apartment

We had an awful and extremely stressful experience at this apartment during our girly weekend in Birmingham. From the outset, communication was non-existent — we didn’t even know if we had a place to stay until we escalated things through Booking.com. Despite sending repeated emails, texts, and calls to the contact details provided, every single attempt was ignored. I was travelling a long distance and needed parking information in advance, particularly as one of my guests was disabled and we required clear details on access and location. None of this was provided. When we eventually managed to speak to someone, they tried to blame their “communications team,” even though the owner had already called me on the same number I’d been using to contact them! On arrival, the strong smell of weed as we opened the door made both me and my friend feel sick. Even with all the windows wide open, the smell lingered. The listing claimed the apartment was in the Mailbox, but it’s not — it’s in an enclosed apartment complex nearby. The flat itself was poorly maintained and badly decorated: masking tape left on the kitchen units, door handles hanging off, holes in the walls, and damaged furniture throughout.

Poor accommodation!

Location

The property was dirty and not well maintained. The front door didn’t lock the fridge had the last people grocery’s in it, the sink hadn’t been cleaned, food debris left on the place mats. Not enough towels for the amount of people booked to stay.
