Left the same day: a main door lock that doesn't work, mould throughout, and an emergency line nobody answered for f

Nothing. I checked out within hours of arriving and paid for a hotel instead.

WARNING TO ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS PLACE: read this before you book. I booked two nights and left on arrival day because I did not feel safe sleeping there. The lock on the main door does not work. There is a lock fitted but it will not engage, so the door cannot be secured. You are on a boat in the middle of a harbour, you cannot walk to shore, you cannot leave without arranging a water taxi, and you cannot lock your door. Think about sleeping there alone, or with children, with your luggage and passport on board. Then the emergency line. Their house rules say it is staffed 10:00–18:00. I called at 14:29 and 14:36 and messaged at 14:30. No response until 18:13 — nearly four hours, entirely inside their own stated hours. So: no lock, no way off, nobody answering. If something had actually gone wrong, there was no one to call. Boarding means stepping across a wide gap over open water with no proper railing. One slip and you are in the harbour between two vessels. Condition: black mould along the ceilings and a mould smell through the whole boat. Wet patches on the floor, water-stained blinds, rotted black timber around the door frame. Stained, worn bedsheets. Light fittings with no bulbs. The oven is listed as an amenity — it and the microwave both carry "Do Not Use" signs. Costs they do not tell you about: the boat is only reachable by sampan water taxi, which you pay for and arrange yourself. Their own Airbnb listing says this openly. It was not on this listing. The fares quoted on board contradict each other, the operators speak no English, and I was stranded on the boat a long time trying to get one back to the pier. A cash-only deposit was demanded on arrival, also undisclosed — I had no cash and had to borrow it. The photos look nothing like the reality.

The houseboat experience was unforgettable. I loved being able to soak up the sun right on the boat, it was super relaxing.
