DOWNSIDE(S) FIRST: A big man would maybe like the bathroom ca six inches wider. Apart from that, in one word, idyllic. We endorse the comments left by previous visitors. Hostess: Charming, cultivated, helpful. Parking: Off-road, gated. Location: On the garden side, sit in handsome grounds above one of England's most beautiful rivers (the Wye), on the town side, gaze across little common to a row of period houses and imagine the carriages drawing up in a Jane Austen novel (1817). The shrine of the spring of Saint Ethelbert (794) is even closer than the cathedral! What more do you want?
See above. Though the Orange Tree public house on King St should have more tables outside.

Location was great

Superb location on the river in peaceful surroundings, but still only a short walk to the city centre.
Liz, the owner who lives next door, couldn’t be more cheerful, friendly and helpful. She even insisted we take some runner beans with us!
There’s off-street parking too.

Great position. By the river and Castle Green. Close to Cathedral and town centre. All walkable. Owner allows use of her garden. This is an independent granny annex with its own entrance. Large parking area shared with owner
