The accommodation did not match the description and significantly affected our family holiday.
Thank you for your response.
I would like to clarify a few important points.
Regarding the air conditioning, the problem was reported during our stay, when it was not cooling the apartment properly. At that time, we were told that a technician would be sought, but no technician came during our stay. The fact that the unit was checked only after our departure does not change the fact that we spent our holiday with an air-conditioning system that was not working properly for us and with very hot bedrooms.
If the issue was only a setting problem, then this could and should have been checked during our stay, when we first reported it. Instead, we were told that a technician could not be found. This significantly affected our comfort and our family holiday.
Regarding the washing machine, the door did not simply remain locked for a few minutes after the cycle. It was still locked the following day, so we were unable to use it normally and I had to wash clothes by hand.
I would also like to stress that our complaint was not about normal wear and tear or the age of the apartment. We reported multiple concrete issues: the broken/defective window mechanism and temporary tape repair, the missing hammock, the bathtub shown in the listing but not available, the dishwasher in very poor condition, loose electrical sockets, defective faucets, unstable fans, one of which fell onto my mother during the night, and significant cleanliness problems in several areas.
These were not cosmetic observations. They affected the normal use, comfort, cleanliness and, in some cases, the safety of the apartment.
We understand that things can break and that no accommodation is perfect. The problem was the number of issues at the same time, and the fact that several of them remained unresolved throughout our stay.
Our review reflects the experience we actually had while staying in the apartment, not the condition in which certain items may have been found after our departure.
We saved all year to take our family on holiday – two children and their grandmother – and unfortunately this accommodation turned what should have been a relaxing family vacation into a very stressful experience.
We chose this apartment because of the facilities shown and described on Booking.com and because we wanted to pay more for comfort. Unfortunately, the reality did not match our expectations.
During our stay, the air conditioning did not cool properly, the bedrooms had no air conditioning at all and only unstable standing fans were available. One of the fans actually fell onto my mother during the night. Because of the heat and the noise coming through the broken window, we barely slept.
The washing machine did not work properly, so I had to wash clothes by hand during our holiday. The dishwasher was extremely dirty and full of limescale and could not be used properly. Several electrical sockets were loose, the faucets were difficult to use and did not close properly, and the bathroom faucet leaked.
The window was already broken before our arrival and had only been temporarily fixed with tape. This meant that heat and outside noise entered the apartment.
The apartment also did not have the bathtub shown in the listing, and the hammock shown in the photos was missing. These were among the features that influenced our decision to choose this particular accommodation.
The cleanliness was also very disappointing. We found dirt, dust and debris in the refrigerator, drawers, cupboards and other areas of the apartment.
We reported the problems during our stay and the property did replace the pillows and provide a new hair dryer, which we appreciated. However, most of the serious problems remained unresolved, and in the end we were informed that no technicians could be found during our stay.
We completely understand that things can break unexpectedly. The problem was not one isolated issue, but the number of problems at the same time and the fact that sever
