Avila Nilaveli Beach

The best place I stayed in Sri Lanka! Avila Nilaveli Beach is an absolute gem. It's just some metres down the road to a stunning beach - perfectly located, spotless and peaceful, with daily cleaning available that kept my room perfect throughout. I originally booked for 4 nights and ended up staying 9 - I just didn't want to leave! What truly makes this place special is the people. The staff are amazing - so friendly, attentive and always ready to help with a smile. The owners are the most welcoming hosts, so warm and genuinely caring. They even offered to take me by tuk-tuk to shops, pharmacy, etc. which was very handy. It's also possible to book all adventure trips in-house through a very professional company called Nilaveli Deep Water Adventure - super convenient and well organized for fishing, snorkeling, whale and dolphin watching and more. If you're coming to Nilaveli, look no further. Highly recommended! ★★★★★

Avila Nilaveli Beach was the perfect ending to an already fantastic trip. The rooms are new and VERY clean, and the manager, Raji, is lovely and was able to coordinate amazing snorkeling off of Pigeon Island with Thamba (black tip shark, tortoises, schools of colorful fish), and transportation back to Colombo. The staff is genuinely caring and will bend over backwards to find answers. Highly recommend!
