Ostuni, known to the world as the White City, is the pearl of the Valle d'Itria. Its historic centre, of a blinding white, immense, culminates with the Cathedral which imperiously dominates the plain of olive trees, the coastal dune park and a clear and crystalline sea. Characteristic are its alleyways, Piazza della Libertà and the column of S. Oronzo which majestically protects the town.

Its countryside extends into the heart of the Valle d'Itria. A few kilometres away is Ceglie Messapica, a centre of tradition and food and wine culture, Cisternino, a village recognised amongst the most beautiful in Italy, Alberobello whose famous trulli have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. About 30 km to the north we find the Archaeological Park of Egnazia, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, ancient fishing villages with evocative historic centres and beautiful beaches. To the north is Bari, the gateway to the Orient, whilst heading south we encounter first the Torre Guaceto nature reserve, then Brindisi before reaching Lecce, capital of the Baroque. Moving towards the west there is Taranto, heart of Magna Graecia and finally Matera, characteristic for its sassi and European Capital of Culture 2019.

Brindisi airport is 50 minutes' drive away, whilst Bari international airport is 100 km away.
