Extremely disappointing

Location was nice, close to the beach

This was one of the worst accommodation experiences I have ever had. The problems started already before the check-in. Owner dindn’t communicate through booking com, only sent a message and requested full advance payment by bank transfer which we didn’t accept. On arrival we had to pick up the apartment keys in another city several kilometers away from the apartment, which was very inconvenient and not properly communicated in advance. After finally arriving at the apartment, we discovered that it had not been cleaned after the previous guests. The apartment was dirty, there was an unpleasant smell, and there were food remains left in the cupboards. There were no clean bed linens on the beds, only dirty blankets. The bed linen and towels were left on the floor in the middle of the room. At the same time, there was no electricity in the apartment. Since the owner did not answer calls, Booking.com messages, or emails, we had to search for the fuse box ourselves and turn the fuses back on. There was also a huge heater in the apartment that appeared faulty and impossible to switch off, creating serious safety concerns. Not to mention it was summer and warm weather outside. We only managed to reach the owner by phone the next day. Unfortunately, Booking.com support was not much help either. They offered us to book and pay for another apartment, but because there was a huge event happening in the area, there were no realistic alternatives available. We paid 318 EUR for a two-night stay. Booking.com support initially informed us that we would receive a full refund. The owner first offered only 60 EUR !!! compensation and later when we insisted agreed to refund 200 EUR. The apartment was dirty, poorly managed, unsafe, and the communication from both the owner and management was terrible. I would absolutely not recommend staying here.
