The family who runs the building are so wonderful, kind & welcoming. I was given a tour of the property and learned of its origins . In the evening we played a boardgame and that was so fun to me. They offer you free coffee and tea, one choice that is purely local Latvian herbs. This is a beautiful place and well worth the price and drive! ♥️

Meie perel oli au olla nende esimesed ja tol hetkel ainsad külalised. Ei osanud algul midagi erilist oodata, aga teadsime, et tegu on endise koolimajaga. Reaalsuses ületas koht meie ootuseid leida soodne majutus telgis ööbimise alternatiiviks.
Kõik oli meeldivalt puhas ja korras. Maantee on kohe lähedal, kuid liikluse müra ei häirinud. Hoone ümber pargis on mitmeid võimalusi aktiivselt puhkamiseks. Usun, et võõrustajad ka jätkavad nende võimaluste arendamist ja parandamist.
Kindlasti soovitan seda kohta kõigile, kes Valmiera piirkonnas või ka ranniku pool puhates soodsat majutust soovivad leida.
Kindlasti on mõningaid asju, mida saaks parandada ja usun, et võõrustajad jätkavad ka pidevat tööd selle nimel.
Kui üldse millegi kallal nuriseda, siis ehk puhkeruumis võiks pisut hubasem valgus olla, praegused laelambid olid hilisõhtuseks lõõgastumiseks veidi liiga heledad. Lisaks võiks puhkeruumis olla valamu.

Friendly helpful staff, met us on parking lot and showed us everything. We were allowed to check-in later.
Public lounge with free coffee.
Outdated, not nice, not cosy, looks worse than in pictures, spaces like kitchen in the basement looks like some war bunker.
Basically it's a hostel. Shared bathroom was too small for so many rooms, only 1 shower and 2 toilets, people were waiting.
Only 1 small towel provided.
Bed was too soft for me.
Bed sheets without rubber band, so you wake up on a naked mattress where probably other people before also were sleeping on it, that looked unhygienically.
Absolutely no noise insulation, you can hear people in corridor and other rooms, regardless of how quiet they are.
When someone is closing their door in other part of the building - your door is also knocking each time. That could be fixed almost for free with some soft pads, but seems like somebody is just too lazy for that.
Doors are with glasses, so there is no privacy if light is on, also lights from corridor and even other room are disturbing.
No day curtains.
Despite it was one of the cheapest options in that area those dates - for the quality and looks it should cost much less. Next night for just a 15% more we got a luxurious apartment.
