A bit of a Hitchcockian experience!

After we were shown in and the Wayne(?) who handed over the keys left, to dispose off a piece of paper we opened the counter in the kitchen where the dustbin was and found it crawling with insects and assorted flies which streamed out and had to immediately shut it before more could escape into the flat, called Wayne who came after 10-15 mins with a housekeeping person, a room freshener and an insect spray, we shut ourselves in one of the bedrooms while they tried to get rid of the pests. We then found there was old food stuff in the fridge which had not been removed. But all through the stay we kept finding these flying insects in the rooms every now & then and could not shake off the feeling that the place was unclean. There was only one glass in the cupboard, no washing powder for the washing machine. Bathrooms & the linen also smelled musty, none of the local tv channels could be accessed, the 2nd bathroom has a tub but no shower curtain, there was no bedspread, there are no towel racks in the bathrooms. All in all not much thought has gone into equipping and maintaining the place. The lobby of this building is also like a train station, seems to have too many short let outs and very few long term residents. We had stayed in another building next door earlier that week for 3N and the comparison was stark.
