I arrived to a beautiful, clean spacious warm 'pod', with all the amenities needed. Detailed email received with all the check-in requirements. Secure locked entrance gate to area. Lovely fresh home baked muffins and bottle of prosecco on arrival in room. Tea/coffee facilities, microwave & toaster. There was a little heater (it was October) which was appreciated in the morning. Small compact bathroom, lovely hot shower. Sofa and small coffee table and tv. Comfortable bed. I didn't use the hot tub but it looked great, (you are paying for it's use so not availing of it does make the cost if stay a little high). I got a Chinese delivered from the local takeaway in Ballaghadrreen (about 4km away). Brochures in room with other options. You're surrounded by fields with sheep so it is very relaxing. All 3 pods are very private, with their own parking area , I was in the Dutch Spotted.
There really was nothing not to like about Bockage farm, but if you're a very light sleeper you can hear the traffic on the N5 at night - it's a good distance away but in the quiet of the beautiful countryside it's the only noise that travels.

The pod was cosy and bright. There were nice scones and a bottle of Proseco in the fridge.
It is too remote: It is on a byroad, off a byroad. L roads or boreens all of them. As it was raining a lot, the place was cold and damp. The only heating for the living room/dining area and the bathroom was a single plug-in radiator. It was very inadequate to the task. The bathroom had no heating at all so was very cold and damp on rainy days. There were no extra blankets or duvets. As our feet were freezing, my husband and I had to put our socks on and we had to throw the large towels over us in the bed. I had a real problem falling asleep and my teeth were chattering from the cold at one point. Not wishing to go through that experience again, I called the owner on the evening of the second night. He was very unsympathetic and stated that he had stayed there in the winter and had had no problems with the heating. In other words, we were wrong and could not possibly have been cold! He said that he couldn’t give us a duvet as he didn’t live nearby. Since the little cakes had supposedly been fresh, there must be someone nearby who could have supplied a duvet. It wasn’t that clean. There was fluff under the bed, the sink plugs in both the kitchen and bathroom were stained and the throw on the couch was stained. There were no oven gloves so it was hard to remove something hot from the microwave. There were no side plates so we had to serve breakfast etc on dinner plates. No bath mats or similar in towel form—so inconvenient. There was only one hook (and that was in the bathroom) on which one could hang one’s clothes/wet coats etc.
